Dr. Lottie N. Pitts
Dr. Lottie N. Pitts is a multifaceted individual, embodying the roles of an evangelist, pastor's wife, author, retired school teacher, and motivational speaker. Beyond these, she has served as the former editor and publisher of her own Christian magazines. Presently, Dr. Pitts holds the esteemed position of Assistant State Supervisor with the Historic Northern Illinois Jurisdiction, Department of Women, and is a former member of the NIJ Leadership Development.
Her life philosophy centers around the belief that only what you do for Christ will last. Dr. Pitts draws inspiration from her favorite scriptures, namely Psalm 34:1-3, 19, Galatians 6:9, and Ephesians 3:20.
The love story of Dr. Lottie N. Pitts and her husband began in 1967 when they met in her grandfather's church on the South side of Chicago. Following her high school graduation in 1969, Dr. Pitts moved to Chicago to live with her grandparents and attend college. The summer of 1970 marked the beginning of their love story, culminating in their engagement in June 1972 and a sacred union at Cross Temple Church of God in Christ, Chicago, Illinois, on June 16, 1973.
Their journey has been one of enduring love, witnessed through 50 years of marriage. From the officiation of their ceremony by the late Bishop Isaiah Leon Roberts to the celebration of their 50th Wedding Anniversary vows by the distinguished Bishop Warren C. Dorris, Jr., each milestone has been a testament to their commitment and joy in sharing a lifetime of precious memories.
The couple takes pride in their family, being parents to two fine sons, two lovely daughters-in-law, and four wonderful grandchildren. Dr. Pitts acknowledges the challenges that married life brings but attributes the success of their journey to faith in God, trust in each other, the continuous nurturing of their love, keeping the flame alive, and a willingness to compromise and forgive.
As they celebrated 50 blissful years of marriage, Dr. Lottie N. Pitts and her husband attributed their accomplishment and joy to the glory of God.
